Overview
Local government is a key stakeholder in urban and regional development. Planners require an understanding of local government’s role and responsibilities in the planning process as well as the planning practices and technologies implemented by local governments.
This course will cover the controls and procedures used by local government in the development of their communities. The details of the development assessment process along with community engagement, communication, negotiation and ethical considerations associated with planning submissions will also be covered.
