Steps to graduating

Update your name and details

Ensure you make any Primary/Degree Name Change request via UConnect > UDo > Student Centre > Online Requests tile so this is important information is correct on all your graduation documents. This must be submitted with correct supporting documentation before Friday 10 November 2017 for Semester 2 2017 graduands and Friday 16 February 2018 for Semester 3 2017 graduands.

Update your Personal Details such as mailing address, mobile number and all personal email address through your Student Centre UConnect > UDo > Student Centre > Personal Details tile.

Check for your 'Congratulations Graduand!' & My eQuals emails

At Results Release, if you've been made 'eligible to graduate', we'll send a 'Congratulations Graduand!' email to your UMail with details about how to register for your Ceremony via the online Graduate Response. This will not be accessible until your are 'eligible to graduate'.

You will also receive an email to your UMail with a link to your free of charge My eQuals digital documents – an Official Academic Transcript and an Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) – you may need to allow 72 hours for this to arrive.

Check your options – attend a ceremony or mail

Check which ceremony you will attend and access the online Graduate Response. You must register and pay your Ceremony Fee before the deadline.

If you're not attending a ceremony, you'll still need to register for ‘Mail my testamur’.

Book & pay for your Guest Tickets

To bring guests to your graduation ceremony you must book and pay for guest tickets when sales open for your ceremony – usually 3 weeks prior to the ceremony date. The Graduations Office will send you more information from mid-March 2018 to your UMail. Ensure you are aware of the maximum number of guests you can bring to your ceremony.

Don't miss out on bringing your guests. Tickets sell fast and are not on sale to the public. Only graduands are able to book guest tickets, You’ll need your Student ID number.

Check out your Graduation Day details

Look forward to celebrating in your mortarboard and gown, and collecting your testamur from the Chancellor onstage. What to expect on your graduation day will depend on which ceremony you attend. Be sure to check the Graduation Guide for your ceremony and share this with your guests.

All graduands are required to wear USQ Academic Dress at graduation ceremonies. This will require wearing an academic gown, hood or stole and mortarboard or bonnet according to your program. We encourage you to look your best by wearing smart attire under your academic gowning for this important occasion.

After Graduation Day

You will receive a My eQuals email to your UMail with a link to your free-of-charge My eQuals digital testamur.

If you have not attended a graduation ceremony and have registered for ‘Mail my Testamur’, your free-of-charge print testamur will be mailed or couriered to your mailing address within 3-4 weeks.
