Student ICT training

Student Tech-torials are free, one hour training sessions in basic computer skills including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ePortfolio. Sessions are offered both online and at USQ Toowoomba.

Each course is offered in person (Toowoomba Campus, S104), or online (via Zoom) from anywhere in the world.

Word Basics

If you are new to Word, this is the sessions for you!  After this session you will understand the screen and what the various commands mean.  You will learn how to create new documents, how to save them as well as learn how to format text, line spacing and paragraphs.

Excel Basics

If you are new to Excel, this is the session for you! Learn how to navigate the environment, and what the various commands mean. Learn how to create simple spread sheets and do simple calculations using Excel.

Word - Document Layout

Find out how to control your page layouts.  In this session, you will learn how to create simple headers and footers for your documents.  Learn how to add page numbers and add information to headers for your assignments.  Learn some cool page formatting tricks along the way.

Word - Designing Bigger Documents

In this session, you will learn how to create your Table of Contents and Lists of Figures.  You will learn how to create styles that you can use in your documents. You will understand how the Styles feature works.  Understanding this concept will help you, and allow you to design your bigger documents with ease.

In this session, you will learn how to create a variety of charts in Excel, to visualise data in your assignments.
