Living and thriving with diabetes

In July's free 'Did you know?' community talk Emma Turner shares her experiences of living and thriving with her son's Type 1 diabetes, served with a large dose of humour.
15 JUL 2021
5.30 PM - 6.30 PM
Bar Wunder, 424 Ruthven Street, Toowoomba

Emma is a USQ Nursing lecturer and her middle son has Type 1 diabetes. While diabetes is a serious and complex condition that affects her family's everyday life, it doesn't stop Emma and her three boys from finding lots of humour too.

Comments such as "But I didn't order the seizure salad' to 'You're perfect, except for your pancreas' are common in the Turner household.

Emma has also had the opportunity to participate in some amazing experiences including walking The Great Wall of China to raise money for diabetes research.

This talk will not only be informative and practical, but a good laugh as well!

Register for 'But I didn't order the seizure salad'.
