Jessica Staheli

Jessica moved from Dalby to Toowoomba in 2017 to complete a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English Literature and Creative and Critical Writing. Following a study abroad opporutnity in Germany, Jessica has returned to UniSQ as an Associate Evaluation Officer, developing curriculum for vocational qualification. Jessica is also completing a Masters of Writing, Editing and Publishing. The Graduate program has offered Jessica a new insight into how a tertiary institution works and learnt valuable skills to help her achieve her career ambition of working in the book publishing industry.

Thanveer Shaik

“I’m finding it very interesting to apply my knowledge in a different way and in a sector that really appreciates my skill set."

Thanveer Shaik, an enthusiastic data analyst, currently working as an evaluation officer at UniSQ to analyse higher education data and implement natural language processing (NLP) methods for aspect-based sentiment analysis to extract student opinions. Thanveer is currently pursuing his PhD in Artificial Intelligence and finished his master’s degree with applied data science as major at UniSQ.The Graduate employment program has given Thanveer an opportunity to explore the scope of AI in higher education and implement his expertise. It helps to build his professional career in Australia while exploring his research interests.

“My PhD studies continue for some time, but I feel like the insights and learnings I’ve been offered in this role with the Academic Quality Unit will be very helpful in the future should I wish to pursue an academic career.”
