Nineteen day month example

Where operational requirements permit, eligible professional employees in consultation with their supervisors may work a nineteen-day month arrangement provided that:

  • Employees have worked 144 hours over 19 days.   These hours must be worked between the normal span of hours, ie between 6:00am and 10:00pm; and
  • Employees must work an additional 23 minutes per day for 19 working days in a normal 20 day (4 week) work period.   Calculated by 7 hours  x 60 minutes = 420 minutes plus additional 12 minutes per day = 432 minutes / 19 days = 23 minutes per day*.

*Actual calculation of 432 minutes / 19 days = 22.7 minutes.  This has been rounded up to 23 minutes per day for ease of application.  As such, an additional 5 minutes will be accumulated each month.
