Information skills in students and staff of USQ are a fundamental part of academic development and graduate capabilities. Information literacy is the abilities that enable a person to recognise an information need, locate and retrieve relevant information, and evaluate and use information.
Information skills and information literacy form part of the assessable graduate qualities and skills required for all of our graduates.
To help academic staff foster the development of information research skills over the students’ learning journey, we aim to collaborate with academic staff in course and program development and enhancement.
How can the Library help me with students’ information skills?
We are happy to help you in any context to build the information research skills with your students:
- participation in LITE teams and course and program development
- developing and delivering classes and online tutorials
- participating in online forums and providing materials for your StudyDesk course
- providing general library classes and online tutorials for all students, whenever they need help.
