Higher Degree Research Students
The Researcher's Tutorial is designed for higher-degree research students to introduce the advanced information retrieval and management skills required to undertake their studies. It covers the strategies necessary to make most effective use of USQ’s research databases, and includes topics such as search strategies, cited reference searching, keeping up to date (by monitoring journals and topics), evaluating information, and managing information.
If you are undertaking a PhD or Masters by Research, you need to successfully complete the tutorial before you can undertake your Confirmation of Candidature. If you are undertaking a Masters by Coursework, you do not need to complete the tutorial, though you may find the content useful.
