Welcome to USQ Library! The Library is here to help you in all aspects of your study and research. The Library provides services, information resources, facilities and help throughout your learning journey.

So how can USQ Library help YOU?

Library information resources and collections

The Library has a huge range of information resources and collections (both print and online) to help you with your study and research, including:

  • Library Search to help you find the information you need – anywhere, anytime!
  • thousands of books and e-books (including a few copies of every textbook and recommended reading)
  • millions of journal articles, conference papers, and other research resources (most available through Library Search)
  • DVDs, CDs, and online streaming videos
  • special databases that index and provide vast amounts of information on specialist subjects

Remember that to borrow items in the Library, you will need your ID card. You can view your Library record anywhere, anytime via MyLibrary.

Get help from Library staff

The Library provides face-to-face, online and telephone help about all aspects of finding information for your study and research. You can Contact the Library to ask for help:

  • online via Chat or email
  • by phone or come and talk to us in any of our four campus libraries
  • online and distance students in Australia can get free telephone help on our 1800 063 632 number
  • use Ask USQ to check on any number of ‘answers’ about Library questions, 24x7
  • and try our online Finding Information Tutorials to learn more

Special services for online and distance students

As well as all resources services, facilities and help available on our website, or if you come into one of our campus libraries, USQ Library provides a range of special services for our distance and online students, including:

  • a special service called DocEx to request items
  • posting items to you (within Australia); including 10 free return postage satchels provided by your Student Amenities Fee
  • scanning and copying of print resources within USQ Library (within Copyright limits)
  • assignment and research help via free telephone help (within Australia), as well as via chat, email and Ask USQ

Library classes and tutorials

In the Library, we love to help you learn, and we have designed some classes, tutorials and online resources to help you:

  • our online Finding Information Tutorials will learn how to research, locate, and use information for your study (requires USQ login)
  • classes and workshops are run in each of our campus libraries on a wide range of topics, at the beginning of each semester; topics include: Using the Library; Library Search; e-books; journal articles and databases; referencing using Harvard AGPS and APA styles
  • we also run workshops on using EndNote for researching and referencing
  • you may also discover that the Library has special help from your Liaison Librarian within your course, discipline or program

Library spaces, facilities and equipment

Each of our campus libraries has comfortable spaces for individual and group study and equipment to support you, including:

  • student computers and laptop facilities
  • student printers, copiers and scanners (B&W and colour) and print vending (to add money to print quota)
  • digital video and still cameras
  • whiteboards and interactive computer screens
