The USQ Library LGBTIQ Safe Space is an initiative accentuating the USQ Libraries’ commitment to provide a visible and inclusive safe area for staff and students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex or queer (LGBTIQ). It is a collaboration between the three USQ Libraries and Student Success and Wellbeing.
Our LGBTIQ community can be assured that the Libraries are a designated safe space for LGBTIQ students and staff to work and study, free from harassment or discrimination based on sexuality, gender identity or gender expression.
Some Library staff have received ALLY training, and are supportive of the needs of the LGBTIQ community. All Library staff have access to resources and are equipped with a network of professional referrals to assist, especially when Student Success and Wellbeing Services is not open.
