I moved to Australia from Bangladesh almost 2 years ago and I haven’t looked back.
While the Australian health system is one of the finest in the world, there are still many unanswered questions.
My PhD focusses on health economics, in particular the economic burden of non-communicable diseases and ageing. I’m seeking to better understand the rising expense of healthcare, and the inequality of access and use of healthcare in developed and developing countries.
During my time at USQ, I have been fortunate enough to be involved in several research projects that will make healthcare affordable for all; including improving the ICU experience of patients - lessening avoidable hospital care.
With motivation and guidance from my peers at USQ, I am achieving something that I once thought was unachievable. As part of my PhD by publication program, I have already published three research articles in Q1 journals.
