More than 150 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high-school students from across the region will gather at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) Toowoomba tomorrow (October 10) to draw inspiration from the 2017 Indigenous Connections event.

The day will give Year 7 and 8 students the chance to listen to motivational presentations by Indigenous role models such as psychiatrist Dr Derek Chong, as well as familiarise themselves with the university environment.

The event will include sessions on USQ study opportunities, pathway options and hands-on cultural activities.
