Dinner welcomes newbies to Residential Colleges

USQ Residential Colleges has celebrated the arrival of its newest residents in style with the Inauguration Dinner last week.

USQ Director (Student Life) Peter Munster said the dinner provided the Colleges with an opportunity to acknowledge academic achievers and community service leaders.

“College residents are the heart and soul of the University, who bring life and vibrancy to the campus through engagement in the many activities on offer,” he said.

Student leaders from Resident Student Clubs (RSC) were also officially inducted into their elected roles, including Former Scots PGC College Warwick Prefect Annelies Black as Concannon RSC President.

“Everyone in this room has the opportunity to serve others by using what they have in their hands and hearts to make ourselves, each other, the University community and the world a better place,” she said.

Annelies is currently studying a Bachelor of Primary Education (majoring in physical education) and also won a Vice-Chancellor’s Award as the top academic achiever at her college.
