Dr Zahra Gharineiat from our School of Surveying and Built Environment was recognised by the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute with a Oceanic Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence for Educational Development Award.
She was thanked for her contributions to the profession through teaching, engagement activities and research that transfers, engages and enhances knowledge, skills and awareness of the industry.
“Zahra has significantly contributed to the profession through teaching, engagement activities and research that transfers, engages and enhances knowledge, skills and awareness of the profession. Zahra has demonstrated innovative teaching to students, obtained significant research funding, published research articles in top ranked journals, and established the highly successful 'Drones for STEM Learning and Teaching’ project that received the 2019 University of Southern Queensland Excellence Award for community engagement and service (which was then presented to schools from Ingham to Stanthorpe)."
