Structural Reliability of Rehabilitated Corrugated Metal Culverts by Fibre Reinforced Polymer Slip Lining

Corrugated metal culverts were widely used on many road networks in Australia. Structural performances of those culverts need to be reassessed as they are both deteriorating and being exposed to increasing traffic loads than they were originally designed for. This research is focused on Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) slip lining repair method. Slip lining is a method of rehabilitation by pushing a new pipe of smaller diameter into an existing pipe and filling the annular space with a cementitious grout. In this research, the performance of deteriorated corrugated metal pipes and FRP sliplined metal pipes will be evaluated by numerical and experimental methods. Those findings will be used to predict the performance of the FRP sliplined metal pipe culverts.
