The Creative Arts Scholarships help eligible students in regional and remote areas of Australia access a Bachelor level degree in creative arts. The scholarships also give students, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, more opportunities towards a career in Australia’s vibrant creative arts industry.

QTAC is the Scholarship Support Organisation for the Australian Government Department of Education and Training to deliver the Creative Arts Scholarships Program.

The Creative Arts Scholarships support flexible study arrangements, eligible students may receive:

funding up to $18 000 each (e.g. for a full-time, four-year undergraduate qualification). Part-time qualifications are paid on a pro rata basis, based on course length and type of study or training.
an extra $500 to support an internship.

Applicants must:

be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, holder of a permanent humanitarian visa, or a New Zealand citizen residing permanently in Australia
have commenced the first year of your Eligible Course of Study in Semester 1, Semester 2 or Trimester 3 of 2021
have a permanent home address (for example, family home for school leavers) in a regional or remote area as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) 2016
not have relocated to a major city more than 3 months prior to commencing their chosen course of study
have commenced a course of study which falls within the Creative Arts Field of Education (Category 10). Please refer to the Australian Bureau of Statistics website for further information.
be studying on campus, online or via distance education
be studying a Bachelor degree or Bachelor Honours degree full-time or part-time.

Your applications will be assessed on two main selection criteria:

1. Financial Need: You will need to provide documentary evidence to demonstrate financial need.

2. Capability: You must provide a written response describing:

A past educational achievement; AND/OR
A work achievement; AND/OR
Other achievements that help to demonstrate your ability to undertake your Eligible Course of Study.
