Heritage Bank Peter Cleary Memorial Scholarship

Reopened for a second round.

In 2024, UniSQ will offer three Heritage Bank Peter Cleary Memorial Scholarships to support students continuing their studies in the Bachelor of Business, or Bachelor of Accounting (including double degree programs).

Established by an endowed gift from Heritage Bank in 2020 and first awarded in 2021, the scholarship will support business students from a regional, rural or remote area within Queensland, or the City of Ipswich through their second year of study at UniSQ.

Each scholarship will have a maximum value of $4000 to be paid in one instalment.

Applicants must:

be a domestic student currently residing in Australia
be from a regional, rural or remote area within Queensland, or the City of Ipswich as defined by the local government area (postcodes 4300, 4301, 4303, 4304, 4305, 4306, 4307, 4340, 4346)
be continuing their studies full-time at UniSQ in the Bachelor of Business, or Bachelor of Accounting (including double degree programs) in Trimester 1 2024
have, as at the release of results for Semester 2 2023:
- a minimum of 6 and maximum of 10 study units completed and credited towards their current program (be entering into the second year of their degree)
- a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 5.0.

Applicants must:

address each personal statement question below (250 words maximum per question):
- your reflections on your studies at UniSQ to date and how you will make the most of your remaining studies
- how you see yourself as a future professional within your field
- your involvement at UniSQ or within your local community including any leadership roles
provide evidence to show you have a permanent address in, or have relocated to study from:
- the City of Ipswich local government area; or
- a regional, rural or remote area (MM2 - MM7) within Queensland according to the Modified Monash Model 2019
provide evidence to support claims made within your personal statement regarding your involvement at UniSQ or within your local community including any leadership roles.

*Applicants will also be assessed on their academic achievement.

Please Note: If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
