In 2021, USQ will offer a number of Indigenous Student Success Program (ISSP) Education and Accommodation Costs Scholarships to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students experiencing financial hardship, who are commencing or continuing their studies in an undergraduate or postgraduate program at USQ.
Each scholarship is for a maximum of three semesters (Semesters 1, 2 and 3 2021) and will be paid per semester based on enrolment and subject to ongoing eligibility.
The scholarship will be open again for applications in Semester 2 2021. Students who receive the scholarship in Semester 1 2021 do not need to reapply for Semester 2 2021.
Payment in Semester 3 2021 is based on being awarded the scholarship in either Semester 1 or Semester 2 2021, as the scholarship will not open for applications in Semester 3 2021.
Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis in the following two categories:
- Education Costs Scholarship: This scholarship is to assist students with meeting the costs of furthering their education.
(If a student has accepted a Centrelink Student Start Up Loan, they will not be eligible to receive the ISSP Education Costs Scholarship in the same period)
- Accommodation Costs Scholarship: This scholarship is to support students who have relocated from a regional or remote area in order to study on-campus.
(If a student has accepted a Centrelink Relocation Scholarship, they will not be eligible to receive the ISSP Accommodation Costs Scholarship in the same period)
Students may be eligible for both the ISSP Education Costs and Accommodation Costs Scholarships.
