The Neil Rowlings Bursary remembers a distinguished member of the professional staff of the University’s School of Communications and the Arts for 15 years, from 1983-1998. Neil grew up on a farm in Inglewood and later became a farmer, growing tobacco, stone fruit and when he moved to Toowoomba, vegetables on a 10 acre farm at Middle Ridge. He enjoyed a lifelong interest in music, was an accomplished saxophone player and a keen tennis player. In his work as a Technical Officer at the DDIAE and USQ, he supported students studying in the performing and visual arts and in music.
The bursary will have a maximum value of $3 000 (over three years).
- be an Australian Citizen or have permanent resident status
- continue their studies in a Bachelor of Creative Arts
- be studying in the areas of theatre, music or visual arts
- have completed the first year of their studies
be a resident of an area outside of Brisbane or the Gold Coast
be enrolled at any USQ campus
be enrolled in a minimum of 1 study unit in each of Semester 1 and Semester 2 of each year of study
be studying on-campus, external or online.
