In 2022, USQ will offer a number of USQ Elite Athlete Bursaries to support a number of commencing or continuing students who are registered or have a registration in progress for the USQ Elite Athlete Program.
USQ Elite Athlete Bursary
Applicants must:
- be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or New Zealand citizen residing permanently in Australia
- be registered or have a registration in progress for the USQ Elite Athlete Program by the bursary application closing date
- be commencing or continuing their studies at USQ in a bachelor's degree or postgraduate coursework program in Semester 1 2022
- commencing students - a minimum of sound level of academic achievement
- continuing students - a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 4.0 as at the release of results for Semester 2 2021
- be enrolled in a minimum of 1 study unit in each of Semester 1 and Semester 2 2022
- be enrolled on-campus, external or online.
Applicants must:
- submit a personal statement (500 words maximum) outlining:
- your sporting achievements, and sporting aims and goals
- your contribution to sport in your local community
- your contribution to sport at USQ (continuing student)
- provide documentation supporting the personal statement, which can include:
- documentation from sporting authorities
- signed letters from coaches or managers
- membership to sporting institutions
- evidence of training/sporting commitments
- provide evidence of academic achievement as directed in the application process:
- commencing students - high school report card or post-secondary academic history (transcript of results) from outside USQ, e.g. school, TAFE etc.
- continuing students - final GPA will be confirmed by the Scholarships Office as at the release of results for Semester 2 2021.
Please Note: If an applicant holds other USQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection.
