Indigenous Access Scholarships (IAS)

The Indigenous Access Scholarship financially assists Indigenous students from regional and remote areas on low incomes with higher education costs. This scholarship is aimed at students looking to undertake full-time undergraduate degrees and associate degrees or students looking to undertake an Indigenous Enabling Program such as the Indigenous Higher Education Pathways Program (IHEPP) in a full-time capacity. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis, and do not need to be repaid. The value of a Commonwealth Scholarship is NOT considered income for Centrelink purposes.

$4,904 once-in-a-lifetime payment.

Students who have previously received this payment at USQ or another higher education facility, are not eligible to apply.

To be eligible applicants must:

  • be Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
  • be an Australian Citizen
