Intersection of two lines – simultaneous equations

When two or more functions intersect it is important that we are able to find the point or points of intersection. 

• We can attempt to do two things. Find:
  1. an exact solution using algebraic methods
  2. an approximate solution using graphical methods
• Note the second alternative is only used when an algebraic solution is not possible or when an alternative check is required for the algebraic solution.
