Drawing graphs
Important features of non-linear graphs
Key features include:
- \(x\) and \(y\) – intercepts - where the graph crosses each axis (as with linear graphs)
- turning point(s) (important for non-linear/curved graphs)
For example for the curve below:
- The \(x\)-intercepts are at \((-3,0)\), \((1,0)\) and \((2,0)\)
- The \(y\)-intercept is at \((0,6)\)
- The turning points are approximately \((-1.527, 13.128)\) and \((1.527, -1.128)\)
