Typical symptoms 
 

Cognitive

  • memory problems, inability to concentrate, seeing only the negative, anxious or racing thoughts and constant worrying are typical of exam anxiety.

Physical and behavioural

  • dry mouth, ‘butterflies’, pounding feeling in the chest, rapid breathing, sweaty palms, diarrhoea, nausea, twitching muscles, increased irritability, tearfulness, moodiness, altered eating and sleeping habits.
