Professional training for aspiring journalists

Do you want to become an industry-ready, practicing journalist? The extended 12 unit Journalism major builds on the principles and concepts taught in the Journalism Studies major to prepare you for work in the industry.

Through the Journalism major you will develop a broad interdisciplinary knowledge base in addition to skills in reporting, writing, editing, design and production of content for a range of media including radio, television, online, newspaper and magazines.

Our journalism lecturers bring extensive high-profile media experience and our alumni hold key roles throughout the media in Australia.  The major includes the possibility of internships in print, television, radio and online newsrooms.

You will have the skills required for a career in print, broadcast and online news organizations, public relations, politics and communications roles.
