What ATAR is needed for a Bachelor of Aviation at USQ?
ATAR is the primary criteria to assess and compare results of high school students for entry into an undergraduate university degree.
An ATAR of 62.70is required to study a Bachelor of Aviation at USQ.

If you haven’t got an ATAR, don’t worry. We can derive a rank based on any previous studies, work experience or professional qualifications.

What are the entry requirements?
To be considered for entry into a Bachelor of Aviation, you must meet specific entry requirements.
You will require an ATAR of 62.70 and sound knowledge in English and General Mathematics.
To study Flight Operations you will also have to obtain a Class 1 medical certificate and USQ aviation uniform.
If you don’t meet the entry requirements, a Tertiary Preparation Program can be completed in as little as one semester and can provide entry into a Bachelor of Aviation.

What additional training is required to become a pilot in Australia?
After completing your first year of USQ’s Bachelor of Aviation (Flight Operations) you can undertake formal flight training with an applicable VET registered education provider to obtain your Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
Once you have completed your flight training, the Australian Civil Aviation Authority will issue your CPL.
How long does a Bachelor of Aviation take?
A Bachelor of Aviation will take you approximately three years to complete. Some students choose to study part-time which increases the time it takes to finish the required courses. You have a maximum of six years to complete the degree.
Are flexible study options available?
You can study USQ’s Bachelor of Aviation on your own terms, in your own time.
Many students study full-time, however, you have the option to study part-time which allows you to balance your life, work and family commitments.
Our Aviation Management courses are all studied on-campus, giving you your first foray into the sky as a pilot. If you choose to study Flight Operations you have the option to study your 3rd year online, with the first 2 years on-campus.
How much does a Bachelor of Aviation cost in Australia?
The cost of a Bachelor of Aviation in Australia will vary depending on the education provider you choose.
When you study with us, the first year of your studies will cost approximately AUD 15000 (Commonwealth supported place), not including:
- Flight training costs
