Overview

  • Master your choice of tv, radio, broadcast, film, documentary or animation, while being supported by USQ's industry-centred staff.
  • Further develop your practical, technological and professional skills.
  • Gain independent research skills, learn to apply theory, and complete independent projects.
  • Demonstrate your knowledge through a dissertation which you will write under supervision, in your area of interest.

Further study

Successful completion of the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours) may qualify you to apply for the Doctor of Creative Arts or the PhD.

 

Career outcomes

  • As well as providing you with the skills to advance in an established career, you will be prepared to work in television, radio, film, gaming, advertising agencies, teaching, or production companies.

Entry requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor degree, or equivalent, in creative arts or a related discipline, with a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.0.

Applicants will be required to write a proposal outlining their field of study (relevant to the appropriate discipline), which also outlines the initial direction of their Honours research. Students will also be required to have an interview with relevant supervisor/s (telephone or face-to-face). This will be in addition to students having a 5.0 (or above) GPA.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

Degree structure

To complete this degree students must complete 8 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per semester.
