You can become a specialised Sport, Health and Physical Education teacher, but also have the flexibility to work as a general Primary classroom teacher. Alternatively, the Secondary specialisation qualifies you to teach Health and Physical Education up to Year 12, but you will also be able to teach up to Year 10 in another subject, making you a flexible, well-rounded educator in the secondary school environment.
- Be prepared for employment in other educational settings such as coaching, recreation and the sport, health and fitness industries.
- Be eligible to apply for teacher registration through the Queensland College of Teachers and have the skills to teach in schools elsewhere in Australia and potentially overseas.
Queensland College of Teachers compiled a report called Why choose teaching? A Matter of Choice: Evidence from the Field to help you understand why and for who teaching may be suited.
