Extend your skills in education management

USQ’s Graduate Certificate of Education (Educational Leadership) is ideal for existing and aspiring education leaders who work in schools and universities, as well as government, community and corporate settings which have an educational focus.

During your studies you will enhance your knowledge of curricula development and leadership issues in contemporary educational settings. You will strengthen your education management skills whilst gaining the knowledge to create innovative solutions to current educational management issues.

Study flexibility

After completing the Graduate Certificate of Education (Educational Leadership) with a minimum GPA of 4.0, you will have the option to take the credit from your studies and go on to complete the Master of Education (Educational Leadership)

If you do not achieve a GPA of 4.0, you may have the option to continue your studies with a Graduate Diploma of Education (Educational Leadership) before moving on to a Master of Education (Educational Leadership) (provided other program entry requirements are met). 

Note: This program does not qualify you for teacher registration in Queensland. To qualify for teacher registration in Queensland, please refer to the Master of Learning and Teaching.

Entry Requirements

  • 3-year bachelor degree from an Australian university or equivalent.

English Language Requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
