Overview

  • Do you want to head up some crucial projects and initiatives? The Graduate Diploma of Business (Project Management) will give you the skills and knowledge to manage small, medium and large-scale projects.
  • Our lecturers are so passionate about teaching project management they have won awards for it. Associate Professor Barrie Todhunter and Associate Professor John Whitty were awarded a USQ Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning for the development of the Intensive Workshop mode of delivery.

Further study

After completing the Graduate Diploma of Business (Project Management), you have the option to take the credit from your studies and go on to complete the Master of Business Administration (Project Management) or the Master of Project Management

Professional accreditation

USQ is registered with the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Global Registered Education Provider (REP). A study of project management at USQ earns professional development units towards certification with PMI, including towards the Project Management Professional (PMP).

Entry requirements 

  • Australian university Bachelor degree in the area of business, or equivalent.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

Degree structure

To complete this degree students must complete 8 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per semester.

You have 2 options to complete the Graduate Diploma of Business:

Option 1 - Named specialisation and general specialisation

Students must complete the four-unit Project Management specialisation courses from the Master of Business Administration, plus any four courses from the Master of Business Administration, Master of Project Management or Master of Business and Innovation, Master of Professional Accounting or Master or Information Systems or from other USQ postgraduate programs as approved by the Program Coordinator.

Option 2 - Two named specialisations

Students must complete the four-unit Project Management specialisation courses from the Master of Business Administration, plus another four-unit named specialisation from the Master of Business Administration, Master of Project Management or Master of Business and Innovation.

  • Semester 3, 2020 - applications close Friday 20 November, with semester 3 commencing on Monday 16 November, 2020.
  • Semester 1, 2021 - applications close Monday 22 February, with semester 1 commencing on Monday 22 February, 2021.
  • Semester 2, 2021 - applications close Monday 12 July, with semester 2 commencing on Monday 12 July, 2021.
  • Semester 3, 2021 - applications close Monday 15 November, with semester 3 commencing on Monday 15 November, 2021.
