Entry requirements

Find the entry requirements most relevant to you.

  • Completed a 3-year or 4-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in the area of health with a 4.8 GPA or higher;
    or
  • completed a 3-year or 4-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a different discipline with a 4.8 GPA or higher, and completed 1 year of full-time work experience in a healthcare setting;
    or
  • completed UniSQ's Graduate Certificate of Public Health with a 4.8 GPA or higher.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

Residential schools

During this degree, you are required to attend a mandatory on-campus residential school course at UniSQ Ipswich and mandatory online workshops in two courses.

What are the Grad Dip in Public Health entry requirements?

To gain entry into UniSQ’s Graduate Diploma in Public health you will need to meet certain pre-requisites. You will need to have met one of the following criteria: 

  • Completed a 3-year or 4-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in the area of health with a 4.8 GPA or higher; 
    or 
  • completed a 3-year or 4-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a different discipline with a 4.8 GPA or higher, and completed 1 year of full-time work experience in a healthcare setting; 
    or 
  • completed UniSQ's Graduate Certificate of Public Health with a 4.8 GPA or higher. 

If you don’t meet the entry requirements for this degree, that’s ok! At UniSQ, we offer a number of pathway options to help you reach your chosen degree. Our range of bachelor degrees can provide you with the required qualification for entry, or you can also complete our Graduate Certificate of Public Health, which is an ideal stepping stone to the diploma level qualification.

A postgraduate diploma in public health is not only an excellent stand-alone degree, but it also provides you with the foundational knowledge to pursue further study opportunities. Once you have completed your diploma, you can seek further study with our Master of Public Health, or if you are interested in a research focus, you can enrol in our Master of Research
