Career outcomes

  • You may find positions in government health departments, public health teams, as well as in community health organisations and agencies.
  • Graduates are armed with the knowledge to implement disease prevention and control, health promotion programs, health policy, planning and management (health systems), and evidence-based professional population health practice. 

Entry requirements

  • Completed a 3-year or 4-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in the area of health with a 4.8 GPA or higher;
    or
  • completed a 3-year or 4-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a different discipline with a 4.8 GPA or higher, and completed 1 year of full-time work experience in a healthcare setting;
    or
  • completed UniSQ's Graduate Certificate of Public Health with a 4.8 GPA or higher.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

Residential schools

During this degree, you are required to attend a mandatory on-campus residential school course at UniSQ Ipswich and mandatory online workshops in two courses.
