  • Raise the bar with UniSQ’s Graduate Diploma of Strength and Conditioning and learn to coach athletes across different sporting industries and teams to monitor and analyse their workload, wellbeing, and performance.
  • If you have a bachelor degree in sport and exercise science, clinical exercise physiology, or related field, and want to change your focus, upskill, or seek promotion in a strength and conditioning role, this industry-relevant qualification is for you.
  • Develop a greater understanding of how the body responds and adapts to various types of strength and conditioning activities. Study injury prevention and rehabilitation programs for athletes as well as sports nutrition and supplementation for health and performance.
  • Learn from renowned coaches, researchers, and lectures who have worked with:
    • National teams preparing for Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games, world championships, and world cups
    • Olympic and Commonwealth Games medallists
    • National league team in the NRL, AFL, NBL, WNBL, and Super Netball.
  • Offered online, with a number of face-to-face residential school courses at the UniSQ Ipswich campus, this degree provides flexibility to suit your work and life commitments.

Career outcomes

  • The Graduate Diploma of Strength and Conditioning will provide you with the skills required for a possible career as a strength and conditioning coach. 

Entry requirements

  • Completion of an Australian university three-year or four-year bachelor degree in the area of sport and exercise science, or equivalent, or a relevant health-related discipline with a minimum GPA of 4.5;
    or
  • Completion of a Graduate Certificate in the area of sport and exercise science, or relevant health-related discipline with a minimum GPA of 4.5;
    or
  • Completion of UniSQ's Graduate Certificate of Strength and Conditioning with a GPA of 4.5.

There are inherent requirements that must be met in order to successfully complete this degree. Inherent requirements are fundamental skills, capabilities and knowledge that students must be able to demonstrate in order to achieve the essential learning outcomes of the degree, while maintaining the academic integrity of the degree. Please read and understand the inherent requirements specific to the Graduate Diploma of Strength and Conditioning before applying.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 7.0 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

Residential schools

You are required to attend one mandatory residential schools on the UniSQ Ipswich campus. The residential school will be for 5 days (Monday - Friday). More information on residential schools is available.
