Paramedicine

USQ’s Bachelor of Paramedicine will provide you with specific skills that are unique to being a paramedic. You will receive theoretical and practical training in the areas of assessment, analysis, decision-making and working in difficult situations.

  • From first year and throughout your degree, you will complete clinical placements with Queensland Ambulance Service to gain ‘hands-on experience’.
  • As a paramedic student you will have the chance to improve your skills in our modern simulated laboratories that include two ambulances and emergency equipment used by paramedics world-wide.
  • Our Bachelor of Paramedicine was designed and is continually updated to ensure you understand and experience the realities of pre-hospital emergency care.

Career opportunities

A paramedicine degree enables graduates to be employed in multiple areas including: ambulance services, intensive care paramedic units, emergency and disaster management units and flight rescue services or community education. Graduates of the Bachelor of Paramedicine will be able to apply for entry-level positions as an Ambulance Paramedic with Australasian ambulance services.
