Explore the arena of Humanities and Communication with USQ’s Master of Arts (Humanities and Communication). You will have the opportunity to delve in to either Communication and Media Studies, English Literature, History, International Relations, Journalism or Social Sciences in your own research project. This major will allow you to develop research skills in your area of expertise. 

Graduates will be equipped to take on advanced careers in areas such as archives, libraries, aid and community projects, publishing, communication and teaching in a variety of private and public industry roles.

Entry Requirements

  • 3-year bachelor degree such as a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Creative Arts or equivalent, from a recognised institution, with a minimum GPA of 5.0
Students intending to undertake research or project work should note that selection of any research topic is subject to the availability of an appropriate supervisor and students must accept faculty guidance in their selection.

English Language Requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This program requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Applying directly to USQ:

  • Semester 1, 2020 - applications close Friday 6 March, with semester 1 commencing on Monday 24 February 2020.
  • Semester 2, 2020 - applications close Friday 24 July, with semester 2 commencing on Monday 13 July 2020.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
