The Master of Business Administration (Project Management) will give you the skills and knowledge needed to manage small, medium and large-sized projects as a senior team leader, project manager or project director.
  • You can choose to supplement your generalist skills by exploring an area of management in depth, in this case Project Management.
  • Our lecturers are so passionate about teaching project management they have won awards for it. Dr Barrie Todhunter and Dr John Whitty were awarded a USQ Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student learning for the development of the Intensive Workshop Mode of delivery.

Professional accreditation

USQ is registered with the Project Management Institute (PMI)® as a Global Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.). A study of project management at USQ earns professional development units towards certification with PMI including towards the Project Management Professional (PMP).

Entry requirements

  • Australian university Bachelor degree in the area of business, or equivalent
    plus
  • a minimum of two years’ professional work experience, or equivalent.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

USQ’s Graduate Certificate of Business provides a pathway into the Master of Business Administration for students who meet the work experience requirements but do not hold a Graduate Certificate at AQF level 8 or equivalent.

Degree structure

To complete this degree students must complete 12 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per semester.
