Overview

  • Increase your finance and global markets knowledge and delve deeper in the world of finance with USQ’s Master of Business and Innovation (Finance). Within this specialisation you will gain a deeper understanding of the Australian and global markets, how companies create value for their shareholders, foreign exchange risk and corporate credit risk.
  • Gaining practical application along with in-depth knowledge, you will gain a greater awareness of strategic investments, instruments and institutions. 
  • This specialisation will encourage a finance decision making focus with the use of tools and techniques to enhance your professional goals.
  • A component of your studies will be a research project which will expand your knowledge in innovative business and entrepreneurship. The Research specialisation has a practical emphasis on innovative and creative approaches to current issues in the business environment. You can use your own experiences as a backdrop to your studies and develop a research project based on your current workplace
  • This degree emphasises collaboration with other specialisations to prepare you for decision making in the future - ensuring you are well equipped for this era of innovation. As part of this degree, you can add a second specialisation that can complement your career ambitions.

  • A bachelors degree or equivalent in a business-related discipline

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

If you have a bachelor degree, or equivalent (AQF level 7), in a non-business-related discipline from a recognised institution, USQ’s Graduate Certificate of Business provides a pathway into the Master of Business and Innovation. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, you will be eligible for entry into the Master of Business and Innovation.

Degree structure

To complete this degree students must complete 12 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per semester.
