The workshop will discuss contemporary research and trends in the nonlinear wave theory. It aims to promote interdisciplinary collaborations between Australian and New Zealand scientists with international researchers. Further, the workshop will place focus on advancing theoretical, numerical and experimental techniques across different branches of wave science, development of laboratory experiments, and cooperation for field experiments. Several popular public lectures will be given by famous researchers for a wide audience.

I would like to congratulate you for a most successful and fruitful workshop. Although I could attend only on Monday, I was most impressed by the quality of the event and exchanges during the workshop. I know that you did a lot of work to make this event possible. Well done.
Hubert CHANSON | PhD DEng, Professor, School of Civil Engineering, The University of Queensland, Brisbane QLD 4072, Australia | 27 November 2018
It was a very interesting workshop and I benefited from several of the talks and off-line discussions. The venue was perfect and the support staff extremely helpful. And of course, you did much of the hard work yourself, down to the fine details.
Congratulations!
Professor Stuart Anderson | University of Adelaide Australia | 29 November 2018
The conference was a success. Well done.
Professor Scott McCue | Discipline Leader, Applied and Computational Mathematics School of Mathematical Sciences | Science and Engineering Faculty | Queensland University of Technology | 3 December 2018
I wanted to thank you again for the very interesting workshop and for all the effort you made to have it run smoothly. In the event, it did in fact run very well.
I also want to thank you and Irina for the wonderful hospitality. The whole trip was a great pleasure as well as being scientifically fruitful.
With a warm smile from chilly Chicago, missing Toowoomba,
Professor Jerry Bona, University of Illinois at Chicago | 6 December 2018
It is my pleasure to participate in the workshop. The workshop is elegent and very successful, Only regretful thing is absence of Prof. Roger Grimshaw due to his health condition. Thank you for your organisation of this workshop again.
Prof. Zhiming Lu | SIAMM, Shanghai University
Thanks again for organizing and hosting the meeting for Roger. While it was unfortunate, but understandable, that Roger couldn’t be there it was also obvious to me that he truly appreciated what you did. And I enjoyed the meeting and the chance to see a part of Australia that I had not been to before.
Professor Karl R. Helfrich | Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution
