Meet the student panel from Toowoomba.
Kate Taylor: "I am a fourth-year student currently studying a Bachelor of Arts and Science, majoring in Journalism and Psychology. For high school, I went to boarding school at The Glennie School in Toowoomba, graduating in 2014. I worked for a couple of years in retail before starting at USQ. I originally applied to study a Bachelor of Creative Arts, majoring in Film, Television and Radio before I changed to a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Journalism. I changed again to my current double degree in my third year."
Jaidyn Paroz: "I am 18 and have lived in the Toowoomba region my entire life. I went to high school at Centenary Heights State High School and graduated last year with an OP 5. Currently, I am studying a dual degree of a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business and Commerce. Law and Business weren’t always the degrees I thought I would be studying as originally, I wanted to become an engineer. However, after finding out senior Maths C wasn’t for me and participating in the USQ High School Mooting Competition, I quickly realised my passion was really studying law and learning about how the economy works."
Mia Rennick: "I’m studying a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Honours) Clinical Exercise Physiology. I was born in Toowoomba and attended Downlands College for high school. While still at Downlands College I completed three USQ Head Start courses, which placed me ahead of my cohort before even starting university. I’ve now almost finished my second year of my degree, and I’m excited about what the future holds! I am already working within my chosen industry, which I find so helpful for my studies."
