At The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) we are excited to be recognised as a global leader in education after making an impressive rise into the top 301-350 universities in the world.

Based on our dynamic research outcomes and a strong international outlook, the University is now positioned in the top 301-350 universities according to the prestigious 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) World Rankings.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Geraldine Mackenzie said this global achievement was a result of UniSQ’s ambition to be a leader in innovation and excellence.

"This is recognition of our strong global standing and impacts." – Professor Mackenzie.

THE World Universities Rankings compares research-intensive universities around the world using four areas of focus: teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook.

Each university is scored in all areas and given an overall ranking. This global comparison of universities aims to inform potential students about education options, assist staff in choosing their next career move, help university leadership in making strategic decisions and allow governments to monitor policy.

The 2023 THE World Universities Rankings release is the biggest dataset and had the highest ever number of regions participating (104), making this iteration the most inclusive to date.

"This result demonstrates that we are a university of choice for students providing outstanding student experience and outcomes." – Professor Mackenzie.
