Overview

  • Extend upon your skills and knowledge in history and develop your capacity for specialised study, research and scholarship at a higher academic level.
  • The degree includes courses in research design and method as well as history specialist topics.
  • You will also complete a dissertation under supervision in an area of your interest.

This degree serves as a pathway to further study such as a Master of Arts or Doctor of Philosophy.

  • This degree will equip you for a career in teaching (with further study), journalism, publishing, the public service, archiving, library work or community history.

Entry requirements 

  • Completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Arts or a related discipline, with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
